ST_GeomFromText

This function parses a WKT (Well-known text representation of geometry). For example:

create.select(stGeomFromText("POLYGON ((-1 -1, 1 -1, 1 1, -1 1, -1 -1))")).fetch();

The result being, for example

... which is a simple square:




Dialect support

This example using jOOQ:

stGeomFromText("POLYGON ((-1 -1, 1 -1, 1 1, -1 1, -1 -1))")

Translates to the following dialect specific expressions:
