TRIM

The TRIM() function trims a string from both ends, stripping it of whitespace. See also LTRIM and RTRIM.

SELECT trim('  hello  ');
create.select(trim("  hello  ")).fetch();

The result being

| trim  |
+-------+
| hello |
+-------+

Dialect support

This example using jOOQ:

trim("  hello  ")

Translates to the following dialect specific expressions:
