OCTET_LENGTH (binary)

The OCTET_LENGTH() function calculates the length of a given binary string in bytes.

SELECT octet_length(cast('hello' as bytea));
create.select(binaryOctetLength("hello".getBytes())).fetch();

The result being

Dialect support

This example using jOOQ:

binaryOctetLength("hello".getBytes())

Translates to the following dialect specific expressions:
