MD5 (binary)

The MD5() function calculates the MD5 hash of a given binary string.

SELECT md5(cast('hello' as bytea));
create.select(binaryMd5("hello".getBytes())).fetch();

The result being

Dialect support

This example using jOOQ:

binaryMd5("hello".getBytes())

Translates to the following dialect specific expressions:

Aurora Postgres, CockroachDB, Postgres, YugabyteDB

md5(CAST(E'\\150\\145\\154\\154\\157' AS bytea))
