RTRIM (binary)

The RTRIM() function trims specified bytes from a binary string from the right end. See also LTRIM (binary) and TRIM (binary).

SELECT rtrim(cast('  hello  ' as bytea), cast(' ' as bytea));
create.select(binaryRtrim("  hello  ".getBytes(), " ".getBytes())).fetch();

The result being

|   hello |

Dialect support

This example using jOOQ:

binaryRtrim("  hello  ".getBytes(), " ".getBytes())

Translates to the following dialect specific expressions:

Aurora Postgres, Postgres

rtrim(CAST(E'\\040\\040\\150\\145\\154\\154\\157\\040\\040' AS bytea), CAST(E'\\040' AS bytea))
